Frozen Q&A tag!!

So I know I haven't posted in about a week but thats because I'm on Christmas vacation in Colorado and baby it's too cold outside to do any thing! So browsing through the bloggernet I found this Frozen Q&A that sounded fun and cute! I absolutely love Frozen. Me and my friends are each a character from the movie, I've made my boyfriend watch it a gazillion times and I've made my friend who is most like Hans learn the words to "Love is an Open Door" so he can sing it with me. I have a bit of a problem.

But I thought it was a cute, quick, seasonal thing to do! I also added some of my own questions in too. So here it is...

Who is your favorite character?
Anna! She is adorable, sweet and quirky! She has a heart like no other that is loving and warm (even though [SPOILER ALERT] it gets frozen in the movie). She loves her sister so much, more than any other guy, and was able to maintain that love for her sister through so many years where it was not returned.

Elsa or Anna?
Anna!! For all the reasons stated above...

Olaf or Sven?
Since Olaf is such the obvious choice, I'm going to go with underdog Sven! He's goofy and Kristoff's perfect companion. I especially love in the Disney Princess movies how the reindeer/ horses always have dog-like personalities, they truly are man's best friend.

Favorite song from the movie?
"For the First Time in Forever" I listen to this when I'm getting ready in the morning and I instantly become happy and excited for the day ahead of me!
Favorite scene/part from the movie?
Although "For the First Time in Forever" is my favorite song, my favorite scene is where Anna and Hans sing "Love is an Open Door". I love how they dance around is so cute and romantic! I wish someone would dance like that with me!!!
If you had Elsa's power, what would you do?
Build a huge ice mansion castle of course!!! With lots of closet space for my fabulous ice queen dresses.

So there you have it! I invite all of you lovely readers to do the same Frozen Q&A tag!

Have a Happy Holidays!

xoxo,
Kylie

p.s. Today's coffee/ latte was a Peppermint Mocha. Because I think Peppermint is the most Christmassy flavor of them all.

Pinterest Holiday Bow Scarf!

So if you all are on Pinterest then I'm sure you've seen the bow scarf tutorial. It looks like this...

(I do not take credit at all for making this, this is just a popular pin on Pinterest)

And I attempted at making it!
I had a similar colored pashmina scarf that I stole from my Mom (is it repetitive to say pashmina-scarf I don't know..)
And it took me several tries but I finally did it! And here is a picture of that...

The bow/scarf just happened to be almost the same color! I wore this as part of my outfit a couple days ago because I wanted to spruce up an old (old to me) green sweater of mine. You can kind of see it in the picture here. I thought the colors were both Christmassy and Royal Elsa from Frozen-ish. Ha.
I love this way to tie a scarf! It makes any outfit interesting and festive especially during this gift giving season!
If you want to try this tutorial but don't have a pashmina.. Charming Charlie has every color of the rainbow and only for $10 each!!! You can find it here.
I just went today and bought my Secret Santa for work one in her favorite color (orange) and tied it in a bow after she saw mine and loved it!
This would be a great and (inexpensive) gift for anyone on your list! I'm probably going to get two more, one for my mom and one for my grandma...
So there's my little attempt at a tutorial! Hope you all are having a wonderful break if you are on break and finals if you are still surviving that ish!

xoxo,
Kylie

p.s. Today's latte was brought to me by Starbucks and was my favorite! Chestnut Praline :)

Christmas Tag!

1. What is your Favorite Holiday Movie?
Elf of course! I watch that movie in July and I can quote nearly every line... Plus I love Zooey Deschanel! She's great in everything and she is pre-bangs/brunette hear and she still looks amazing!
2. What are your Favorite Christmas Colors?
Hmm... this is a tough one. I'd have to say a pop of red or gold, it makes any outfit look seasonal.
3. Do You Like to Stay in PJ's or Dress Up for Christmas?
I will take any chance I can get to dress up! So for Christmas dinner or a Christmas party of course... but Christmas morning is definitely spent in PJs!
4. Do You Open Your Presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
Both. Christmas Eve with my extended family. And Christmas morning with my immediate family. Because there are little kids in my immediate family and Santa doesn't come until Christmas night... duh.
5. Have You Ever Build a Ginger Bread House?
Yes. And it was delicious. But it was made with Graham crackers... I'm not a huge gingerbread fan.
6. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
I like to see as many Christmas lights as possible! And drink hot chocolate and apple cider and watch elf and sing Christmas songs all day long. I am also queen of Christmas decorating.
7. Any Christmas Wishes?
For a White Christmas. And also to see my boyfriend on Christmas but that won't be happening this year since I'll be away visiting my family.
8. Favorite Christmas Smell?
Like something is baking. Whether it's cookies or a special bread or something cinnamon-y and sweet!
9. Favorite Christmas Meal or Treat?
Hot chocolate. Apple Cider. My family's yams recipe.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Kylie

It's Thursday and that means... Weekly Update!

Hi everyone! I know I already posted today but that was a Holiday Gift Guide not an update and I want to keep doing these updates so I can still call myself a SORT OF life style blog.
So this week in my life... I got through finals!!! Yay! I am proud to say that I most definitely got A's in two out of three of my classes because they're online at CMU but my one other class I'm going to have to wait the old fashioned way... *hyperventilating begins* But mostly I'm excited to be done with school for a few weeks!
Secondly in my life... is Christmas shopping. I still have a few people on my list to buy for and I have to do so before next week because I'm going on Christmas vacation to visit my family in Colorado! Yay snow! Jk it'll probably be raining... So anyways! Christmas shopping. So you will be probably be  seeing more holiday gift guides, even though you people have probably got all your shopping done because you're not big procrastinators like me.
Thirdly, I have been blogging and networking all day because 1) I have no more school. 2) my boyfriend got his wisdom teeth out and I have no one to hang out with. Seriously. Have you guys ever had a friend whose had their wisdom teeth removed or gotten them removed yourself? In my experience... they don't act completely loopy, but more like they expect you to know what they're thinking and so they only talk to you in half sentences... it's really funny but also confusing!
So more blog related... I'm going to try posting more often and hopefully it will be easier without having to worry about school. So keep checking in!
Lastly, I just thought you all should know I've been listening to Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" on repeat. (Yes I was one of those people who thought she was saying 'Starbucks Lovers' when I first heard it. And I assumed the whole song was about her being a barista and seeing a cute guy sort of like a 'Taylor the latte boy' song because I didn't know the lyrics) Taylor Swift is a goddess. Enough said.
Hope you all are having a great week with finals and the holidays and all that jazz!
xoxo,
Kylie
This weeks latte/hot drink has of course been.......... hot chocolate! My boyfriend makes the perfect recipe for it, it's like a process. First add the powder, then a SPLASH of milk, then a couple pieces of a hershey's chocolate bar, then 2-3 marshmallows, and finally hot water! Mix it all together and top it off with whip cream and a dash of cinnamon!

Boyfriend Holiday Gift Guide

So am I the only one who struggles with getting the perfect gift for my perfect guy? I don't think so. Boys are so difficult. They have everything. And what they don't have... they buy for themselves. True story. My boyfriend couldn't wait until Christmas to get the Xbox One so he got it for himself a week ago. Brat. And everything he want's to go with it, is out of my price range. I'm on a very tight budget this year because I'm also getting gifts for my immediate family as well, which I haven't done in the past because I didn't have a job but now I do and all people want is for me to spend money on them. Isn't my presence a present? Ha. My ten and nine year old little siblings don't think so. But that's for another post!

For now... the boyfriend. The last person I have to shop for and the most difficult. He say's he wants something cool but his definition of cool is strange... he was more excited to get mouthwash than candy once. Weird kid. So I have no idea what to get him, but I want to get him something nice. I love Christmas and the sentimental-ness (is that a word...) that goes along with it! So I've been browsing the web and mostly etsy to find him something sentimental and that he will love and actually use and be excited for!!! So here I go...

Boyfriend Holiday Gift Guide

  1. Flannel Shirt: A Fall and Winter time wardrobe essential... that is missing from my boyfriend's wardrobe.
  2. Handmade Wodden Watch: This watch has a genuine feel to it that any classy guy will love!
  3. Grand Theft Auto V: of course I had to add a video game in here, because boys will be boys with there video games.
  4. Dog Tags: These won't be just any dog tags but custom couple's tags. I'm ordering some for my bf and I and they are going to say our initials, anniversary date and... "Property of Kylie/Jared"
  5. Xbox One controller: I guess this remote is COD limited edition and cool and all that jazz, and my boyfriend just bought it for himself but I felt like it would a good gift for other boyfriends and gamer guys as well
  6. Vegan Belt: My boyfriend is a swimmer and rather skinny so he needs belts like these. I especially like this one because it's different than other typical fabric ones, and of course its environmentally friendly!
  7. Sweaters: More Fall and Winter wardrobe essentials! I like ones like these because they can also be worn in the Fall because they're not too Christmas-y. I can't decide which one to get my boyfriend! He loves stripes but he's been wanted one with a collar like the gray because it has a classy chic professor vibe to it.. lol
So there are my options for holiday gifts for boyfriends alike! Hope you all have a Happy Holidays!!

Yule Tide Greetings,

Hold on Tight....

Hold on tight folks! I'm undergoing a bit of construction here and deciding what I want to do with my life... in relation to what this blog looks like. I'm still trying to figure just how to do all these techy things! So my template may change every day but just hang in there!
If you have any tips for me let me know in the comments please!

Weekly Update!

So I did not die of influenza! I promise! I have a new sickness and it's called FINALS.
Yes that's right. Finals Week is next week. And I haven't had a lot of time for other things beauty and blog related so I decided to do a quick weekly update, that I'll start doing every Thursday (or try to) for now on!

First things first! My tips for getting through Finals Week.

  1. Drink lots of water. I know its tempting to have your diet solely consist of Starbuck's House blend. but don't. Keep hydrated. When we're so busy we tend to forget to drink some water here and there so keep a glass or bottle of water always nearby. I find that if I do keep a glass of water nearby while studying I'll reach for it more often and keep very hydrated and healthy! Also as a tech savvy bonus! My favorite app to help me drink more water is a called Plant Nanny and you get to grow a cute little plant friend while staying hydrated at the same time! Find it on the app store.
  2. Keep up your Vitamin C level! Vitamin C has loads of benefits but mostly it keeps your immune system strong (which can weaken under stress and especially this winter during flu season months). I discovered this when I invested in some Halls Defense Vitamin C drops and was no longer sick in a few days. Also I got a 5 lb. bag of cuties tangerines and I eat about 3 of those a day... they're addicting! And they're so easy and accessible. I keep one in my purse when  I go out or to work. Yes, I'm a fruit addict and always have been (When I was a toddler I threw fits in the grocery store not for candy but for grapes).
  3. Get some sleep! I'm also addicted to sleep. I need at least 9 hours to function normally throughout the day. But most people don't need that much and can normally function on 6-8. I know sleep is hard to fit in during studying, but please do. I would say at least get 6. You retain information better when you're well rested and its just good for your health and beauty regime! You don't want to spend $$$ on extra under eye concealers when you could just get an extra hour of sleep that will do the trick!
  4. And of course there are extra study tricks that I have repined on my pinterest that I will link to here (follow me while you're there!).
Also coming up is Christmas! For the past few days my mom and I have been constantly emailing each other back and forth our different christmas lists. Basically on my list is the entire Ulta Catalog, and other stuff on my pinterest boards. Which you can find here and here.
Yes I am asking my boyfriend to get me a kitten for Christmas which explains the cat pins, and I'm really hoping he does because I want a little furry friend again! I have lots of furry friends, but all dogs and all belonging to my friends. But even though I love dogs, I'm more of a cat person, because I'm lazy. So hate me for it.

So that's all for now. I have to get back to doing school work and studying. *sarcastic yay*
Hope you all are having a lovely winter and finals week!

xoxo,
Kylie

p.s. this morning's caffeine was regular House Blend coffee with Vanilla Creamer. Recently I haven't been having that much caffeine because I was sick so the last thing I got at Starbucks was actually their Carmel Apple Spice apple cider which is DELICIOUS!
